The Things I did on the Last Day of 2007
Monday Dec 31, 2008
Tried to wake up but fell back asleep and proceeded to have a weird dream:
I was at work, they had no bathroom. I left to go home walking down the street with red brick walls lining the sidewalks. Met Lyric on her way home for the same reason. We got to a public restroom and she entered first. I complained that I really have to go! She said, "Well, so do I! Keep walking!!" And shut the door in my face. I finally got "home"...it was really my work. And the one guy there helped me out by placing the porta-potty outside for me (looking like a grey rubbermaid trash can with the food style swing-lid tops). I entered and the street side flap was open. I maneuvered to close that and realized I was sitting on the closed lid and had to really do some twisting and scrunching to get the lid up.
Woke up - and actually had not wet the bed YET! I ran and let loose on the 3 water bottles I drank last night!
Went back to bed, closed my eyes and rested for a few minutes. (Sometimes I've caught a reflection of my early morning face - my eyes won't open, so my eyebrows get an extra wierd arch in them trying to help them up! It was one of those mornings.)
Said morning prayers with Stephen - made him do it. Sent him off to go snow-boarding, his passion in life.
Got ready for work and dressed in grey top and slacks. Wore my black pea-coat with my black/grey scarf from the clearance rack in Salzburg, and put on my favorite black slip-on shoes (the ones that look like flat ballerina slippers). I matched the 3 other girls at work who also wore black and grey. We do that frequently. It's weird! (The other 2 people weren't quite in synch with us).
I renewed my church magazines subscription.
Got the oil changed in my car.
E-mailed Charlie about his Great Grandma Ferrell passing away on Saturday.
Asked for that weekend off from work and got told my job switch will probably take place around that time. I'm stepping down from being branch manager to just being a loan officer. Looking forward to that! They also did give me the time off and said they were sorry. Good people.
Got my internet contract up and going for the house - we now have better service but have to pay for it.
Got my oil changed while I ate a Taco Salad from Carl's Jr. My first one there. It was good enough to do a repeat - but other locations are closer for pretty much the same thing.
I was bummed to find out the gym closes at 5 today - I'd like to get in and work off those chocolate caramel treasures I couldn't stop eating yesterday! I can go tomorrow a.m. though.
Chatted with my friend, both of us trying to figure out what the heck we're going to be doing with our families to bring in the New Year. She may end up going to Vegas. I may end up watching videos wishing I had fam around to Fodue with.
And I'm thinking I ought to organize and clean my work desk. Which reminds me I REALLY ought to clean out my office at home! It only exists right now because it's attached to the rest of the house - Christmas killed it!
I also paid the bill for Stephen's muffler for his truck.
Umm - talked to Stephen and maybe we'll take Jarrod to see a movie. Charlie's in Denver with his buddy - his dad owns a nursery there and so they go there frequently.
So what did you guys do for your last day of the year? I would really like an interesting photo to mark the momentous occassion!
I'll have to let you know later what we ended up doing....I know you're all waiting on pins and needles wondering what excitement we've cooked up for ourselves!
Enjoy - and - HAPPY NEW YEARS!!

ok... funny. Almost as weird as my dreams are when I wake up ready to burst. Leave to your bossy older sister to take the spot you really needed.
We puttered around doing housework. Marcel went to work. I puttered on the computer and ordered greeting cards made of some of my artwork. Of course it was the last day to use the discount offered. My typical procrastination.
We had our fondue at Barbara's house since i was too tired to clean my house for guests. Life is good although the kids are out of control grouchy today. Should be a "fun" day.
Take care!

LOVE fondue! You'll have to give me some ideas for what you make in yours.I just found an electric one at Target. Sounds like an eventful day.
